CaLby2030 Featured at the 15th European Congress of Chemical Engineering (ECCE)

The CaLby2030 project was proudly represented at the 15th European Congress of Chemical Engineering (ECCE), held in Lisbon from 8 to 10 September 2025.

Alexandru Constantin Bozonc, a researcher from Babeș-Bolyai University, presented a poster titled: “Life Cycle Assessment of Advanced Calcium Looping Solutions for the Decarbonization of the Steel Industry within the CaLby2030 Project.”

His presentation highlights the urgent need for decarbonizing the steel sector — responsible for up to 9% of global CO₂ emissions — and explores how Calcium Looping (CaL) can be a key post-combustion CCUS technology in achieving Net Zero targets.

Participation in ECCE 2025 provided an important opportunity to share CaLby2030’s innovative work with the wider scientific and industrial community, and to support efforts toward a more sustainable and low-carbon future.
